Soaking up Cairns

What a treat! A couple of days spent in the Queensland sun… doing nothing but soaking up rays, sipping coffee and enjoying food!

Our accommodation:
The @riley.crystalbrookcollection was really impressive! The rooms in the tower are spacious and offer a lovely view of the water + pool area. The aesthetic is really easy on the eye and they have great sustainability initiatives throughout the entire hotel. The buffet breakfast offers an array of food for the health conscious and those with a sweet tooth! Staff are really attentive and all facilities are kept in pristine condition.

The @elemespabycrystalbrook was an absolute treat! I opted for the 60 minute muscle meltdown. It lived up to its name, all tension and worries melted away. (Thank you to my therapist Samantha!) We finished our mini getaway with a cheeky cocktail on the @roccobycrystalbrook rooftop overlooking the waterfront and Cairns.

Our favourite dinner options (great options for meat eaters and vegan + gluten free diners): The @lillipadcafe – Super quirky and relaxed café, with options to suit all taste buds. The portion servings are very generous and the food feels like home. I opted for The Pad’s House Salad, which didn’t disappoint.

Marinades Indian Restaurant – Wow Wow Wow! Super tasty and didn’t leave us feeling sluggish or bloated. The Veggie Korma was a hit!

Caffeine hit options:

@caffiend_cairns – Great coffee and the brunch menu look pretty yummy too!

@thehealthyhubcafe – A little further out of the centre, but well worth a visit! We stopped here for a coffee on the way to the airport. Great local organic produce, the café serves a 100% plant based menu with plenty of GF options. Will certainly make this our first stop next time we are in town.

Ice cream (of course!) @mooz_gelato on the pier offered a delicious selection of flavours which are made onsite. I suggest you go earlier in the day as they do run out of flavours by the end of trading. Try the raspberry & coconut sorbet if it’s available!

Strongly suggest grabbing a car and heading up the coastline for a drive to Palm Cove & Port Douglas. The drive back as the sun was setting was nothing short of spectacular!
